The new energy and energy-saving environment protection industry is an emerging industry.—a priority for cultivation. Tai’an has been successively awarded one of the first batch of new energy pilot cities, one of the first group of distributed photovoltaic power generation massive scale application pilots, and a pioneer photovoltaic technology base in a mining subsidence area. With 2.53 million kW installed capacity for new energy, Tai’an ranks No. 3 in Shandong, and is now home to 85 new energy enterprises above the designated size. Xintai’s photovoltaic technology in a mining subsidence area has a planned installed capacity of 2 million kW. The pumped storage industry also takes the lead in China, with a total investment of 10.2 billion RMB Yuan, and installed capacity of 18 million kW, Taishan Pumped Storage Power Station (Phase II) will be soon started. Upon completion, Tai’an will ranks No. 2 in installed capacity of pumped storage in China, and No. 5 in the world. Its lithium battery chemical energy storage industry also takes the lead in China, and is the most important li-ion battery materials production base in China, forming up a complete industrial chain from anode materials to battery products. Next, the priority is to build a domestically advanced new energy equipment manufacturing and intelligent power grid equipment manufacturing industrial cluster, making a complete stored energy industrial cluster. With a look-ahead hydrogen energy industry deployment, Tai’an is speeding up its new generation environmental protection industry highlighting high-efficiency utilization of clean coals, to build up Tai’an as a new energy and energy-saving environmental protection industrial application base integrating R&D, production, supply and pilot projects.
