Mount. Taishan, Dongyue (the Eastern Scared Mountain), located in the Tai’an City in the heart of Shandong Province, China, is a scenic spot covers an area of 426 km2 and features a main peak named Yuhuangding (the Peak of the Heavenly Emperor) of 1,545 m in altitude. It is reputed as the “most formidable among the Five Sacred Mountains” and the “first mountain under the heaven”. As one of the most beautiful spots throughout China that ranks No. 1 among the ten most famous and appealing Chinese mountains, it was listed as the first natural and cultural heritage in the world in 1987, and in 2006, it was listed as a “World Geopark”.
