Tai’an has quite solid industrial foundation. In 2020, it has accomplished a gross output of 276.65 billion RMB Yuan, with common budget revenue of 22.92 billion RMB Yuan. In the first half of 2021, the city obtained a gross output of 147.45 billion RMB Yuan, with common budget revenue of 16.27 billion RMB Yuan for January to July in 2021.

Tai’an has solid foundation in agriculture. As an important base for grain and oil seeds, fruits and vegetables, livestock and poultry, organic green food and nuisance free produces, Tai’an has one national modern agricultural park, four provincial parks, and 330 large-sized leading agricultural enterprises, 10,195 agricultural cooperatives and 6,704 home farms, specializing in organic vegetables, ecological dairy, nursery stock and the like 10 major industries with 1 billion or above output value for each.

Tai’an boasts a complete range of industries, home to 1,140 industrial enterprises above the designated size, 130,000 medium, small and micro-sized enterprises, deployed in 37 categories of industries. They include a batch of leading high-end manufacturers like ITD, Shangdong Energy Heavy Equipment and Shiheng Special Steel, and a batch of new materials enterprises like Taishan Fiberglass, Huaneng Opto-electric, Guotai Dacheng Carbon Fiber, Tongyizhong Polyethylene Fiber and Lude New Materials. Meanwhile, in bio-pharmaceuticals, textile and garment, new energy and new generation information technology, there are also a batch of leading enterprises and key products. Now we are building advantageous industrial clusters with more than 100 billion RMB output, and some leading competitive enterprises are hitting the objective of more than 10 billion annual output.

The service industry is also blooming, for Tai’an’s cultural tourism is distinctive, advantageous and promising, thanks to its three world cultural heritage sites, and 2,422 immovable cultural heritages, and 11 national level non-tangible heritage projects, and one national cultural industry pilot. It is also home to 81 A-level scenic spots, including one 5A spot, and thirteen 4A spots. Its cultural tourism new business and new projects are developing rapidly, with Taishan West Lake, and Tai’an Old Street newly established as hot places where cyber celebrities share their photos. Taishan Xiucheng and Taishanyou International Ecological Tourist Resort, Taishan Shigandang Cultural Park and the like projects are being constructed quickly.
